Starting and stopping FrameKit

To start or stop FrameKit for a givent architecture, you must go to the EXEC_DIR corresponding to the choosen architecture (see Figure 1). Then, invoke the executable file called FrameKit as follow :

> cd $EXEC_DIR
> FrameKit -options

Where options are :

-start -f to start FrameKit in french (multi-session mode),
-start -e to start FrameKit in english (multi-session mode),
-start -s to start FrameKit in spanish (multi-session mode),
-stop to stop FrameKit,
-state to know the current state of FrameKit on the current workstation.

Warning:

Be sure that the one who starts the daemon (macao_proxy) has rwx access on all directories. This includes the FrameKit directory (installing FrameKit, Figure 1) tree but also all user's workspace (be carefull when you create a FrameKit account).

This is due to an important choice: you do not have to be root to install and run FrameKit.

Notes:

  1. when you install a platform kit, there is a default user called "Administrator" who belongs to group "Admin" (see appropriate note).
  2. You may run several FrameKit platform at the same time on discrete hosts with.
